Who Established the Passover?

Whenever someone hears about the Passover, they automatically think is a Jewish festival. However, when you study the bible you can find out that Passover is a feast of God that was to be kept also by the Christians. Yes, the Passover originated during the times of the Israelites in the Old Testament, however, many people dont realize that Jesus Christ also commanded the disciples to celebrate the Passover in remembrance of Him.

Exodus 12:1-The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, "This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. ......Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.

Exodus 12:11- ...eat it in haste. It is the Lord's Passover
This was the origin of the Passover. The Israelites had to sacrifice a lamb on January 14 at twilight (evening). But who became the Passover Lamb?

1 corinthians 5:7- Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore, let us keep the Festival(Passover)....

But everyone thinks that just by His death on the cross we are saved... but have you ever analyzed why He shed his blood on the cross?! Why he sacrificed for us? As you know, God's sacrifice is not in vain. Then why was He sacrificed as the Passover Lamb?

1 Peter 1:18-19- For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

We are redeemed through Christ precious blood. (Ephesians 1:7)

Then continually God says we are forgiven through Christ blood. But how can we receive Christ Blood?

Mathew 26:17-19- ......So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

Mathew 26:26- 28-While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. (ref: luke 22:8, 13-15, 19-20)

On the Passover Feast Christ gave us His flesh and blood which gives us the Forgiveness of Sins. On this Feast he made a covenant or will. Then in order for this will(forgiveness of sins) to take effect what had to happen?

Hebrews 9:16- In the case of a will, it is necessary to prove the death of the one who made it, because a will is in force only when somebody has died; it never takes effect while the one who made it is living.This is why even the first covenant was not put into effect without blood.

Then why was Jesus crucified on the cross? to put into effect the covenant He made with us on the Passover. Then does his death mean we dont have to celebrate the Passover?! Does it mean the Passover is just symbolic?! Absolutely not! God said take and eat and take and drink- This is my body and blood. How can we ignore God's word. But most importantly, when did Christ make this covenant? On the Passover Feast. Therefore,when should we eat His body and blood? Whenever we want? No way... God's promise was on the Passover, not every sunday or everyday. This Passover must be kept at the appointed time year after year (January 14- twilight, ref: Leviticus 23:4).

John 6:53-Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Jesus said Eat His flesh and drink His blood for your Eternal Life. If you really value your salvation, Eat it and Drink it! God already told us the answer to how Eternal Life will be given. If you really believe, then obey. Faith= Action= Celebrate Passover= Eternal Life

Church of God World Mission Society celebrates the Passover. Does this mean we are a cult? No way! The last time I checked, false prophets keep people from keeping God's command. We just want Eternal Life and go to Heaven following Gods word. Satan didnt say to keep Passover. Who commanded us? God almighty! Then who restored the Passover after being abolished since AD 325 throught he Nicaea Council? Second Coming Christ Ahnsahnghong (Hebrews 9:28). Christ Ahnsahnghong established the Passover once again as prophesied so that we can receive salvation, Eternal Life! If you study the prophecies in the bible you will realize that Christ Ahn Sahng Hong is True God Almighty. God Bless You!
